Maintaining Vinyl Composite Tile (VCT)

Newly installed VCT

New Vinyl Composite Tile (VCT) has a factory coating which will protect it from damage during construction. After installation, your new VCT will need a machine scrub service too remove the factory coating so a permanent protective finish can be applied. Once the surface is properly prepared, most manufacturers recommend a layer of self-sealing finish followed by two layers of high quality top finish. Your new flooring will now be beautiful and ready for use.

Existing VCT

Once your tile has base coats, the next step is to build up the number of top layers. Multiple layers of finish will protect your flooring and give it a deep, clean, wet look appearance. Factors such as facility use, foot traffic, and budget will help determine the best plan for your floors.
